In this session we will cover the search tools available to search the physics literature.
- How to choose a database or abstracting/indexing service.
- How to access search tools using a subject pathfinder.
- How to search library resources from home.
- What are descriptors and controlled keywords? How to choose keywords from your lab manual to select references.
- How to search both the current and early literature on the topic.
Marked Assignment: Search a suitable database to identify two articles suitable for including in your lab report (Expt. 2). One must be recent and the other historical. Send the link to your instructor (dcraig@yorku.ca) and print out the bibliography in Physical Review Letters format to be handed in for the next class.
